Award Descriptions
- Hard Line Award: This award goes to the skater who is best prepared throughout the season. Arriving on time to stretch prior to their skating session and completing their cooldown stretches is very important.
- Byron Award: This award was named after Chris's first coach, Carry Byron. It goes to the skater with the best attitude. This skater is positive and helps motivate the people around them. This skater has the "I CAN" attitude.
- Pizzazz Award: To the skater that presents themselves the best in practice and competition. This skater clearly understands skating as a sport and as an art.
- Dazzle Award: This award is for the skater that is most improved. Judgement should be based on skill improvement from the beginning of the season until the end. It should be based on overall skating improvement; for example jumps, spins, presentation, flow, etc.
- "110" Award: The "110" Award goes to the hardest working skater. This skater puts 110% of themselves into their sport, even on the bad days. This skater has a high level of drive and determination.
The following categories are earned through the accumulation of points during the season.
- Crystal Blade Award: This award goes to the Foundations skater that stands out! This skater has amassed the most combined competition and testing points. To qualify for this award you must have not passed your Pre-Preliminary Freeskate test before June of the previous year.
- Achievement Award: This award goes to the skater compiling the most test points during the year. Points are awarded based on the level and type of test passed. The points awarded for each test level is indicated on the attachment.
- Pinnacle Award: The Pinnacle Award goes to the skater that generates the most Club points at competition. All skaters entering a competition will earn 5 points for their entry. First place winners get an additional 20 pts., Second place earns 15 pts., Third - 10 pts., and Fourth - 5 pts. If there are fewer than four skaters in a group, fewer points will be awarded.
- S.A.'s Skater of the Year - Combined Points Trophy: This skater amassed the most combined testing and competition points for the year! This is the MVP award of Skater's Advantage.
